Flexible PVC

These properties make flexible PVC suitable for various applications where other materials may not be accessible. The achieved sound transmission level depends on factors such as room size, noise absorption rate, frequency range, and the installation method of the PVC door material.

To optimize its performance, it is recommended to let the PVC hang freely and avoid stretching it too tight during installation.

It’s important to note that every noise reduction measure is only as effective as its weakest component. As a rule of thumb, a 10% opening (when non-insulated) reduces insulation by 50%.

Flexible PVC

Flexible PVC, widely used in Swingflex and Strip Doors, offers excellent sound reduction characteristics due to its unique composition.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, DMF recommends the installation of PVC products, such as shields, to help prevent the transmission of the virus. We have supplied single-panel PVC shields for worker isolation, creating enclosed working spaces that allow employees to work closely together while maintaining improved protection.

The medium sound transmission characteristics of flexible PVC (Rm > 35dB) make it an effective choice for reducing noise, even at thicknesses as low as 5mm.

Other notable properties of flexible PVC include:

  • Glass-like transparency
  • Strong mechanical characteristics
  • High flexibility
  • Smooth surface, ideal for hygiene/clean room areas and wet environments
  • High resistance to weathering and chemicals
